Foot Reflexology

How does Foot Reflexology work?

Why has Foot Reflexology been practiced for centuries?

What can I expect from a Foot Reflexology session?

Reflexology is the systematic "micro massage" of the joints and tissues of the feet. This unblocks the circulation of many systems in addition to soft tissue, including meridian channels, and zones.

The underlying purpose is to encourage  a homeostasis response in the body by achieving circulation balance. This arises from understanding the  "holographic model" of seeing the body as completely connected and communicating system to system.

By encouraging circulation and releasing blockages memorized in the tissues the body releases tensions and memorized stored patterns internally, and thus "chi", or "vital life force" in its many forms is freed to circulate with the outcome being an improved "homeostasis response"  and enhanced harmony of equilibrium overall.

A normal session consists of 60 -90 minutes  ( no longer) with each foot having half a session of micro massage.

In my decades of practice I find 3 distinct levels of response to this treatment. Depending on the overall presentation of health at the time of the session.

1. Most common..... a euphoric, light feeling of restfulness yet slightly energized vigor.

2.  Sleepy.... this occurs when the client is overly fatigued and points to the fact that more rest is required. Internal adjustments systematically are still ongoing even when the session is over. Continued relaxation brings renewed levels of vigor.

3. Totally energized.... this occurs when the presentation is already in a very balanced state of well being. Thus all systems are charged and energized. Usually requires a good run or workout to utilize the added benefits of more energy.

This treatment is very popular and  practiced all over the planet, as I experienced this from my own world travels which lead me to research.  I found ancient writings in Sanskrit, in Chinese medical texts, and Ayurvedic  sources dating back as far as  5,000 years!

This lead me to ask the question... "How is it that something lasts so long?"

The answer is... because it works!

Clients have repeatedly shown me the many beneficial ways they feel and respond to this treatment.

While we are not legally allowed to diagnose we are able to point out weaknesses or imbalances in the body which have for me, been proven over time by clients being alerted to seek medical diagnosis and this has verified the reflexology sessions. (diminished function/imbalances precedes many modern medical diagnoses, thus we may find pre=symptomatic presentations before they become normally diagnosed)
